Welcome to ‘Manipulation of the Masses’, my new Substack platform, where I will explore the - often non-consensual - methods used by our government to promote compliance with their diktats.
Right now, state-funded actors are currently striving to manipulate our beliefs and behaviours so as to align them with the goals of our political elite. Under the banner of an assumed ‘crisis’ (pandemic, climate emergency, war), these self-appointed global leaders believe they know what’s best for us all and, consequently, are routinely deploying a range of psychological manipulation techniques aimed at getting us all to do the ‘right’ thing. This forum will provide a critical analysis of these methods, and strive to increase people’s awareness of this top-down authoritarianism.
Hopefully, visible dissent to these approaches will become more commonplace, and human beings will feel empowered to reclaim their rights to engage in open, transparent debate about decisions that affect them, and to give informed consent before the state deploys any covert psychological strategies of persuasion.
