You go into any medical intervention with thought and research not because a celebrity is pleading or praising me to do so or I am being castigated or shamed for refusing said intervention. What happened in 2020/21 is a disgrace for many reasons and not least was the insane drive to have every member of society injected and the resulting threats and name calling by media, politicians and celebrities for refusing to take an injection. How anyone cannot look back at this with horror I will never understand.

Totally agree, Amat.

Thanks Gary, lovely to read your Substack!

I was pretty sceptical of what doctors told me way before 2020, and now I have a healthy scepticism for whatever I'm told by any public figure of authority, medical or otherwise. I have to work hard to remember that some of them may still be telling the truth!

I’m totally with you, Helen. It’s increasingly difficult to trust anyone within our (once respected) institutions.

You help keep me grounded and, dare I say, sane Gary! An excellent article. It poses key questions that we all should consider before taking anything 'as read' from so-called 'trusted' or popular figures.

A very interesting piece, leading me to consider how politicians will be dealing with mpox now, should it spread into Europe in any significant way. Will we see lockdowns and face masks brought back for no reason, just so that they can claim they are 'saving lives' and therefore appear virtuous and in control? Or will actual science, not 'THE science' (as pushed during covid), drive the agenda? I'm not hopeful.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, Angus. I would not be surprised if they push for lockdowns, masks etc. again under the banner of another purported global emergency. However, I am more hopeful that, when they do, more people will actively resist/dissent.

I agree Gary, that a lot more people will resist this time. But there were so many sheep during covid that it was frightening how easily governments can brainwash citizens into doing stupid or unreasonable things. Despite the best efforts of you and SmileFree, far too many people still think masks are a solution, and do not want to have their comfort blanket taken away from them by evidence and facts. And governments take advantage of this gullibility to curry favour with these voters by issuing mandates, which the sheep love because they wish to be controlled and told what to do. I don't think we are out of the woods yet!

Great article Gary. Thank you for continuing to pour light on those very dark years.

It's so important that people don't forget the harm that was done to them whilst the state was gaslighting everyone that they were helping to "not kill granny" when, all the while, the state was euthanasing thousands of those same grannies with Midazolam and/or Remdesivir.

Who's clapping for the NHS now?

Thank you for caring enough to continue to inform. Just to add to the thread, there were also many studies done, such as "Persuasive Messages for COVID-19 Vaccine Uptake: a Randomized Controlled Trial", just one of the many https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT04460703

Celebrities were always planned to influence behaviour; that is the digital age. In the 'brave new world,' we are supposed to do what is planned by what the power brokers predict. They can't control humanity however, so I live in hope. They still don't know what we think ALL of the time.

I too have hope - I believe the tide is turning (although slowly).
