From 'COVID' to 'climate.' A point i make is IF there really was a climate crisis caused by an excess of greenhouse gases why then would a government consciously decide to blow up the Nord Stream 2 pipeline?

Brilliant piece, thank you Gary! I have valued your authentic and insightful comments right from the very beginning of the so called ‘Pandemic’, and this takes it all one step further and relates it to what one might call the ‘next phase of the coup d’etat’!
What interests me, and I would value your views on this, is on a scientific basis how ‘successful’ do we think these ‘interventions’ turn out to be? On first sight, I personally, purely as a victim and/or observer of these shenanigans, would say, not very, especially in proportion to the amount of time and resources committed to them over the years.
I am in my 7th decade and I would suggest that very similar ‘techniques’ have been employed over these decades to ‘encourage’ the mass populace to accept and embrace mass immigration and multiculturalism. From the ‘they’re more British than we are’ in the very early phases of mass immigration, to the more recent ‘we need them to pay our pensions’ I personally have watched the British people be bombarded with relentless ‘positive influencing’ to nudge them into accepting massive cultural & social change. Yet, despite this, here we are with multiculturalism openly admitted as a failure and more and more people of all ages sceptical if not outright hostile to immigration.
Similar scepticism to public messaging was common during the ‘pandemic’ and was far greater than we were nudged to believe at the time. Likewise vaccination status, when the unvaccinated were being targeted (unsuccessfully) with ‘YOU are the only one not complying’ messages, before it was finally publicly conceded that anything between 25 - 45% of people across different societies were not taking the jab.
So, with all of this, I wonder just how effective or successful - realistically speaking - much of this ‘nudge’ actually is?
Is there any evidence that ancient communities and societies such as England/Europe have what might be called a thousand year embedded ‘mass inertia’ that may indeed be limiting the effects of these relatively new methods of people management? Might this ‘mass inertia’ be protecting us from the worst excesses of government and ruling class megalomania?
All interesting and very valid stuff, I think. Thank you.
Thank you, Lulu, for your support & generous comments.
I believe that the range of propaganda strategies (with ‘nudging’ being one example) have been very effective - as illustrated, for example, by the high level of compliance with crazy restrictions during the covid event. But you can only hide the truth for so long, and overused behavioural science strategies lose their potency as more & more people become distrustful of the official narratives. I don’t think we’ve yet achieved a critical mass of dissenters to repel the next authoritarian onslaught but I believe we are getting closer to this threshold as more and more people awake to the tyranny being inflicted upon them.
Yes indeed, Gary. Unfortunately for tyrants, the pesky truth does have an annoying habit of eventually revealing itself. I think we are seeing, with time, the awakening of many who, having seen the ‘mechanics of the trick’ in one instance for example now cannot unsee all the tricks around them. But of course, we then run into the next problem fuelling the inertia, which is ‘wilful blindness’. I believe that many who we would probably classify as ‘awake’ choose - probably due to fear of the consequences of speaking up - to stay silent. And, as Matthias Desmet (another voice of reason during the pandemic) said, only when the pain of staying silent exceeds the pain of speaking up will these people put their heads above the parapet. Given the West’s current trajectory, those days are probably not too far away!
Another technique I have noticed a lot is neutralizing opposition by subverting and misrepresenting it. In the case of the Net Zero / Climate Change agenda, a lot of so-called opposition seems to be more of a quixotic crusade against windmills and other forms of renewable energy than a direct challenge to the agenda. One could argue that such 'opposition,' however well intentioned, serves the same agenda: restricting access to energy to strengthen the position of governments and energy cartels.
One could also add:
- protests against centralization of power in the EU became protests against immigration;
- protests against draconian lockdowns became protests against 20mph speed restrictions in residential areas;
- protests against suppression of free speech became protests against the Free Palestine Movement;
- protests against coercion to receive unsafe, ineffective and unnecessary medical interventions became protests against food additives.
You make some valid and interesting points. Directing the energies of the sceptical community towards targeting peripheral issues rather than at the core of the official narratives does benefit our global/political elites and protects their agendas. Whether this is strategic (‘controlled opposition’), or just the product of piecemeal, organic resistance, I find it difficult to determine.
As a result of the psychological “warfare” that became commonplace during the pandemic years I became very aware of the way in which public opinion was being formed and then weaponised against the interests of the public. The creeping authoritarianism was growing like a cancer around the world. The most frightening aspect of all this is that most people still remain totally unaware of the way in which they are being manipulated and power is being abused by those we used to trust.
We live in very uncertain and worrying times. I hoped to leave my grandchildren with a better world but I am now fearful for their future and feel powerless to prevent what seems like an inevitable race to the bottom in which the vast majority will be impoverished and controlled by a small ruling elite.
History has a habit of repeating itself and I fear we are returning to the days of serfdom and poverty for the masses at the behest of an overindulged aristocracy! Sad indeed! Terrifying!
Thank you, Christine, for your support and for taking the time to comment.
I share your concerns about the futures awaiting our children & grandchildren. Also, I concur with your assertion that a major barrier to people waking up to realities is that they find it inconceivable that Western institutions could abuse & manipulate them in these ways.
But I do retain optimism; more & more people are recognising the tyrannies we’re enduring and visible dissent is increasing.
Why do we even listen to these "experts"? As a society, we are bombarded with messages and technology has allowed "influencers" and the media to get into our heads more than ever before.
Maybe we can work out how to escape this pyramid that we are building around us and our children.
Many years ago, people just talked to each other and worked out their place in the world without being told by Big Brother what to do and think.

Common sense is more common than they thought!
The thing is thé earth is not dying her life force is weakened and we are the ones that are dying
And let’s not get into what they are spreading because it’s daily at our location and I know of many more
They want less of us
They’ve all admitted it
And yet no one is going to jail
Or anything
Whistleblowers strung up and imprisoned
Peaceful truckers imprisoned I’m in Canada…
It’s time we wake up and smell the fukcin coffee
We have been taken to the cleaners for centuries and they are doing this to us again…
Goodnight
